The Ontology and Gnosticism of Archetypal Dreamwork

Taught and hosted by Bill St.Cyr, Director of Submit a Dream Program and Archetypal Therapist/Teacher and Susan Marie Scavo, Director of North of Eden Press, Co-Editor of Deluge and Archetypal Dreamwork Therapist/Teacher with other guest NOE Teachers

Ontology is the study of the nature of being, the nature of reality, the nature of existence. Traditionally, philosophers have worked with ontology in a systematic way, working with categories of being and their relationships in order to fix, in some way, the elusiveness of being.

In this class, we will explore the ontology of Archetypal Dreamwork from the Archetypal reality. We will explore, in depth, the nature of some of the most important elements of the dreamwork - the Archetypes, the soul self, pathology, the Gyroscopy and the Big Lie, conjunctio, how this work differs for men and women.

Rather than categorize and summarize  all the elements of this work, we will spend time exploring the elements as they relate to ourselves, our work and our own beliefs and understanding. The greatest gift and power of this work is that it challenges and supports us to find our own way into our own study of the nature of our own beingness.

In this way, ontology can lead us to the true nature of Gnosticism. Gnosticism is defined as a deep, intuitive knowing. In the context of the work, it is the personal, visceral relationship with the Divine, however that manifests for each person. Ontology, studying the nature of being through the lens of the Archetypal reality, can bring us to our own felt understanding and manifestation of our own work.

We will also explore how this approach compares to the practices of others who have worked with dreams such as Jung, Freud and Ouspensky.
