This is my version of a Scottish lullaby my aunt, Mary Craig McLane, used to sing. The words are:
Thou art the music of my heart
Harp of Joy, Moon of guidance by night
Strength and light thou art to me
In the morning when I go to the white and shining sea
In the calling of the seal, thy soft calling to me
When I’m lonely, gentle heart
dark the night and wild the sea
By love’s light my foot finds the old pathway to thee.
I have friends who’ve a three year old son and he just adores this piece. Each time he listens to it, like 30 times a day, he waits for the fast part to start and says “here comes the rainbow!” He gets so excited he jumps up and down all over the house. I often jump with him.
