Bob Murray now Offering Private Musicality Sessions
Contact Bob: 802.479.4147 or bmurray@dishmail.net.
Since the beginning of April, Dreamwork clients, as well as people not doing this work, have been signing up for one-on-one Musicality sessions with Bob Murray at his house near Plainfield VT. The response has been phenomenal—lots of local folks taking advantage of the opportunity to step into the fear and vulnerability that music affords for most, if not all, of us (whether it be by way of voice, songwriting, guitar, piano, harmonica…whatever).
Stepping into that vulnerability in a genuine way strips away judgment, often swinging open the door to self-discovery, giving us access to places and feelings we’d either forgotten or didn’t even know existed. Often that’s as simple as opening our mouths into song. Music, of course, is all about feeling as opposed to thinking, which encourages and facilitates the shift from mind to body, but it’s more than that. When we sing from a place of genuine vulnerability, our voices speak the truth of where we are in that moment. For example, good luck trying to disguise reticence in your voice. On the other hand, good luck also trying to disguise the depth and beauty that is so often revealed when we continue to stand in that vulnerability, when we don’t jump out of it into projected judgment or something similar. That beauty is a reflection of who we truly are in the depths of our beings—the voice of the child within, the voice of the soul. Who on this planet doesn’t want a lot more access to that?
Well…(good news for those of you beyond a reasonable commuting distance to central Vermont), Bob has recently begun doing Skype sessions (both voice and instrumental) for long-distance clients—the technology is working beautifully.
So, if you’re currently a Dreamwork client with an urge to discover and explore the vulnerable terrain of your own voice as it relates to your homework, or…if you’re an accomplished musician with a nagging awareness that self-sabotage has been gnawing away at your gift, or…if you’re visiting the North of Eden website for the very first time and find yourself curious about your own relationship to music and how it could be a doorway to the playful and uninhibited child in all of us, give Bob a call at 802.479.4147. He’d love to hear the sound of your voice. You can also reach him at bmurray@dishmail.net.
