On Monday, October 24, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at The Red Shoes in Baton Rouge, Christa Lancaster and Marc Bregman, founders of North of Eden Archetypal Dreamwork, will explore the powerful message coming to us individually and collectively in our dreams: that the essence of soul, the one within who knows divine union, is often the image of a girl.
They will be joined by Rodger Kamenetz, Professor Emeritus of English and Religious Studies at LSU, and author of The Jew in the Lotus and The History of Last Night's Dream. Together they will explore what a resurrection of the girl, the emergence of the feminine soul, might mean to us all. What is her place in the world today?
Lancaster and Bregman will present the work they have done personally and guided hundreds of dreamers to do over almost 40 years of working one on one and in groups. They will discuss how dreams, with infinite patience and grace--and sometimes ferocity--confront us on our psychological obstacles and personal traumas . . . and show us the way through and out, to an experience of divine love.
The presentation will include a demonstration of String Therapy, a vibrant form of dream enactment used in workshops and retreats that brings the unconscious to consciousness. Dreamers will step into their own dreams to experience the feelings they evoke and encounter archetypal agents of transformation. There will be time for questions about the work and for audience members to ask about their own dreams.
Based in Montpelier, Vermont, North of Eden, an organization devoted to Archetypal Dreamwork, offers one-on-one therapy, dreamwork retreats (at a state-of-the-art retreat center north of Eden, Vermont), online classes through the Center for Archetypal Dreamwork and publications from North of Eden Press.
Archetypal Dreamwork has grown from its Vermont roots to capture the attention of people across the United States and abroad. It has been discussed by Oprah, on the New York Times website, and on National Public Radio. Lancaster and Bregman have presented the transformative power of Archetypal Dreamwork throughout the United States and in Canada, Bermuda, and Europe.

About The Red Shoes
The Red Shoes is a nonprofit center offering opportunities for spiritual enrichment and personal growth through book and film studies, weekend retreats, and workshops. We offer creative development through the art forms of collage, drawing, painting, writing and music. We offer movement classes including yoga and various dance disciplines. Classes are designed to broaden one’s understanding within a supportive community.
The Red Shoes derives its name from the ancient fairy story of the same name, specifically as interpreted by Jungian analyst Clarissa Pinkola Estes. She speaks of the importance for each woman to find the shoes that uniquely fit her feet, rather than wearing ill-fitting shoes in an effort to please someone else. We believe that the hand-made life is the life well lived. The red shoes are a symbol of the journey one takes toward becoming one’s true authentic self. Also, like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, who also wore red shoes, seekers discover that all along within themselves they have had that which will take them home.
