What if you knew that every single dream, every single night, offers the way to reclaim the power of your extraordinary soul?
For over 35 years, Archetypal Dreamwork has guided dreamers on a visceral, sensual, life-changing descent into the unconscious to confront their very particular psychological and spiritual obstacles. Underneath lies the soul self that has always known divine love.
Experiencing dreams in a physical way is a practice, like yoga, that releases energy, dissolving the emotional blockages that keep us from being fully present in our lives. Mysterious yet practical, dreams invite us into the alchemy of real change, which is felt in the body.
On Wednesday, October 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Swan River Yoga's Mid-City Mandir Studio, 2940 Canal Blvd. in New Orleans, Christa Lancaster and Marc Bregman, founders of North of Eden Archetypal Dreamwork, will share the work they have done personally and helped hundreds of dreamers to do over a combined 60 years of working one on one and in groups. They will discuss how dreams, with infinite patience and grace--and sometimes ferocity--confront us on our psychological obstacles and personal traumas, which are often bound in the flesh . . . and show us the way through and out, to an authentic experience of soul in the physical body. They will be joined by New Orleans' own Rodger Kamenetz, a dream worker and author of The Jew in the Lotus and The History of Last Night's Dream.
Christa and Marc will demonstrate String Therapy, a form of dream enactment used in workshops and retreats that brings the unconscious to consciousness. There will be time for questions about the work and for audience members to ask about their own dreams.
Based in Montpelier, Vermont, North of Eden, an organization of therapists and teachers devoted to Archetypal Dreamwork, offers one-on-one therapy, dreamwork retreats (at a state-of-the-art retreat center north of Eden, Vermont), online classes through the Center for Archetypal Dreamwork, and publications from North of Eden Press.
Archetypal Dreamwork has grown from its Vermont roots to capture the attention of people across the USA and abroad. It has been discussed by Oprah, on the New York Times website, and on National Public Radio. Christa and Marc have presented the transformative power of Archetypal Dreamwork throughout the USA and in Canada, Bermuda, and Europe.
Swan River Yoga, founded by Michelle Baker, is hosting the Embodying the Dream presentation at its newly reopened Mid-City Mandir Studio. Michelle Baker followed her dream of starting a yoga studio after Hurricane Katrina inspired her to help the community heal its relationship with water, both inner and outer. This resulted in the creation of Swan River Yoga, with partner Keith Porteous, a cultural gathering place where yoga, healing, art, and learning take place in many forms.
